Event Details

Alison Costello moderates a lively monthly discussion of books from various genres. It's a casual meeting -- attendees may bring refreshments, "show and tell" items relating to the month's book selection, or just themselves!

April 17th's choice is The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker.

Karen Thompson Walker’s The Age of Miracles is a science fiction novel. Set in modern-day California, “the slowing” is the term used to describe the mysterious phenomenon of Earth’s rotation gradually decelerating. Humanity must face drastic environmental issues, such as increased days of sunlight; the story serves as the dystopian backdrop for the coming-of-age of the 11-year-old protagonist, and is related through her eyes.

Books are made available at the library's front desk.
