Join us on Thursday, February 20th, at 6:00 pm for HAMMER AND CLAY: TWO FILMS BY CHRISTOPHER "KIT" LUKAS.

PETE SEEGER’S LEGACY
After Pete Seeger’s death in 2014, film-maker Christopher Lukas felt that the world needed a film that would define forever who the man had been. The lucky coincidence of finding a sculptor – Gary Sussman – who had been commissioned to make a life-size bronze statue of Seeger gave the film its momentum.

HOPE AND DESPAIR
The seasoned sculptor Gary Sussman makes a clay portrait of the 89-year old filmmaker, Christopher Lukas. Lukas, in turn, makes a film of Sussman at work on the portrait. But the film turns out to be much more than that: it is a conversation between two old friends about life, death, missed opportunities, and accomplished triumphs.
