Program Description

Event Details

The Harlem Renaissance period of African American literary, artistic, and intellectual activity centered in the New York City neighborhood of Harlem, spanning from the 1920s to the mid-1930s. Considered one of the most significant periods of cultural production in US history, the it fostered a new African American cultural identity.

Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998 in Connecticut in the New Canaan public school system.  By popular demand,  in 2010 they began sharing their knowledge with adults who wanted to learn the basics of art to further their education and to make museum trips more enjoyable.
